RUA Coffee Bar
RUA – A Vibrant Hub for Coffee Lovers, Makers, and the Local Community
Brand identity
-
RUA was born from founder Rachel Mulryan’s vision of a coffee bar that was more than just a place to grab a drink—it needed to be a creative, inviting, and accessible space where community, craft, and coffee could thrive together. The challenge was to develop a brand identity that embodied this ethos.
-
We immersed ourselves in Rachel’s vision, ensuring the brand would not only make an impact at launch but also evolve into a platform for products, events, and collaborations. The goal was to create an identity that felt fun, authentic, and full of personality—something that would resonate with coffee lovers and the wider creative community alike.
The Outcome
RUA’s brand was designed to make people smile. Hand-drawn illustrations and animations bring a free-flowing, expressive quality to the identity, creating mood and vibrancy while reinforcing the brand’s creative spirit.
A minimal core palette and bold secondary colour palette were used to add personality and playful energy across social media, packaging, and physical brand elements.
The handmade aesthetic was used to create brand stickers, which are applied across takeaway cups, bags, and napkins, adding a crafted and personal touch to every customer interaction.
The signage and tone of voice are clean, simple, and to the point—no gimmicks, no clichés—just an honest, down-to-earth focus on quality, service, and sustainability.
These brand elements come together to have RUA feel approachable, full of warmth and creativity. RUA is about people and planet. We aimed to reflect this, by creating a brand that feels thoughtful, creative, and connected to its community.
